Mach trim operates

  • along the longitudinal axis
  • along the lateral axis
  • to reduce Dutch roll

Explanation from PART66Online

Mach trim corrects the nose-down pitching (tuck-under) that develops as the centre of pressure moves aft in the transonic region. Pitch is rotation about the lateral axis but trim is applied to control the aircraft along its longitudinal axis in the pitching plane; it is a pitch-trim correction, not a yaw or Dutch-roll function.
